When sixth-grader Carter Hopkins is recruited by a mysterious organization housed inside of Mount Rushmore, he receives some shocking news: Carter will one day be elected President of the United States. He and eleven other young people identified as the future leaders of the world's most powerful countries have been brought together to prevent an impending nuclear world war. Mount Rushmore Academy has a history of stopping global tragedies by training young people like John F. Kennedy and Mahatma Gandhi to bring about peace. But when one Academy pupil turns on the others to ensure his country's victory, Carter and his new friends will be called upon to lead sooner than they thought.
