Walking with God...talking to God: The everyday prayers of a Prison Chaplain

A collection of daily prayers inspired by Scripture passages.Foreword: "Caffeine and Prayer, that's how we roll Paul". These were amongst the first words to welcome me to the priorities of Prison Chaplaincy at HMP Thorn Cross in Cheshire. Indeed, these were regularly the first words of Rev Shawn Verhey as he greeted me with a cafetière of freshly brewed Columbian around 6.30 am each Wednesday and Thursday mornings at the Prison. And as good as his word, the first priority after coffee greeted the day, was to separate and each pray our Morning Prayer, he regularly using Celtic Prayer or choosing random passages from Scripture and thereafter penning his own responses as the Spirit guided him.
