The Tip of the Spear

The Special Forces Tier One Soldiers do not operate in a vacuum. The rough men who stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would harm us while we sleep safely in our beds are the tip of the spear; a combat force who is the first to engage the enemy in battle. They are forced to operate in a very political world. A political world run in large part by unelected, career bureaucrats, intelligence officials, foreign ministers and diplomats who serve the master of wanton hubris. In this geopolitical thriller, Travis Wolff, a U.S. Special Forces Delta Force operator and a newly selected soldier to the British Army's SAS Regiment, Ian Penman, hunt down an Islamic Republican Guard Corps Quds Force team intending to detonate a radiological device which it obtained from a former Russian Army general who is now a major arms dealer in The Black Sea region. Wolff and Penman's pursuit leads them to the target, a large holiday celebration in Israel; a dirty bomb detonation threatens to commence a nuclear war in the Middle East. Olga Darialova, a four-time Olympic gold medal winning biathlete, is coerced by a Russian counter-intelligence agent to become an expendable government assassin.
