Henry Turnbull wants to die. Ever since his wife's death, his suicidal tendencies have re-emerged. However, if he commits suicide his children will be disinherited from his vast wealth because his wife made sure this would happen in an addendum to his will. At last he finds a way to make his death look like an accident. But first he must tidy his affairs before leaving this life so he employs devout Christian Deirdre Stringer to help him clear his big house. He has long hated the Church and all it stands for but he needs Deirdre's organisational skills. He claims he's just downsizing and moving to a smaller place. However, Deirdre soon becomes suspicious and she vows to stop Harry from taking his own life.
