Millie of Great Falls

Millie of Great Falls was born on a farm north of Portland, Maine, in 1880. The last of six children, she enjoyed each season for its unique beauty and opportunities. But farm life isn't easy and Millie dreamed of being a teacher one day, perhaps even moving to the city with her husband. Meanwhile, Walter, living on a farm not far from Millie, aspired to be a preacher like his well-known father. Circumstances forbade this option, so instead, he answered the call of travel and headed to the opposite coast. For each of them, providence intercepted dreams, weaving a new tapestry neither could have foreseen.
