Dead Coeds, a 'dime novel, ' continues the early years of homicide detective Joseph Barszcz, JB, to his friends. The decade is the 1950s. JB is faced with a series of murders. A body found by the roadside by a young boy launches JB into a narcotics smuggling case involving his old nemesis, the New London GBees. His new wife, Audrey, is the manager of a shade tobacco farm in the Connecticut Valley. Friction between her Puerto Rican workers and the neighboring farm's Jamaicans results in murder.
