An introduction to the work of the celebrated fashion photographer Erwin Blumenfeld. An experimenter and innovator, Erwin Blumenfeld (18971969) produced an extensive body of work including portraits and nudes, celebrity portraiture, and advertising campaignsbut it is his fashion photography for which he is best known. Having fled Paris during World War II, Blumenfeld forged a stellar path in New York, where he worked for Harpers Bazaar, Vogue, Helena Rubinstein, LOréal, and Elizabeth Arden among others. This compact volume reproduces Blumenfelds influential work through more than sixty full-page images in Thames & Hudsons Photofile series.
