The story of Ben H. Millard born in Minnesota, 1872. His early trek through Nebraska working on a river boat on the Missouri River. Next his life in the 1920s in SD as a feed store operator and small town manag er and owner of Banks. Finally, as a SD Bank examiner, he became acquainted with the Badlands and spent the rest of his life working with Senator Norbeck to see the Badlands National Monument established. In the process he built and managed Cedar Pass Lodge and donated land for the National Park Headquarters and right away sections of the highway, which he and Senator Norbeck surveyed.
