A King Must Understand

Like Krishna and Arjuna in the Bhagavad Gita or Machiavelli and Lorenzo de'Medici with The Prince, "A King Must Understand" is a rendition upon the archetypal theme of the passing down of sacred knowledge from guru to disciple. In "A King Must Understand", this passing down of knowledge takes the form of a letter written from father to son. This letter is broken into different chapters. The chapters range in style from parable to Conceptismo. In a style reminiscent of Marcus Aurelius's "Meditations", and directly parallel in intent with Machiavelli's "The Prince", "A King Must Understand" gives instructions to the reader regarding the topic of kingship. Subjects such as religion, virtue, love, dealing with enemies, power, and adversity are covered. Every subject discussed is done so with the intention of helping the reader attain a greater perspective on the subject of life itself. In "A King Must Understand" the readers are introduced to the mantra: I am Power I am The Truth I am A Divine King I am Wisdom, Strength, Faith, Knowledge, and Understanding I am Dignity and Honor I am The Greatest King That has Ever Lived for I Am The Master Of Power This mantra links the books of the series together as it serves a major role in the initiatory function of the series as a whole. In "A King Must Understand" the name of the son is Master. This name Master was chosen intentionally and is significant because it calls directly to that unknown GREATER which exists within all. It is to this GREATER within all that this book is written, and it is this GREATER within all that this book seeks to call forth into the world. This is very significant to me personally as the very mission statement to my company (Divine King LLC) is, "Inspire the world and make it a better place by awakening the King that dwells in the heart of every man".
