Who Said I Can’t?

In the hope of reaching out to other parents who have difficult decisions, I have written this book to introduce our lads, Jason and Mark who have Down's Syndrome. I want you to see the world through their eyes; you know it is beautiful behind those eyes of theirs. It is an amazing journey. They have taught us so much. When I was a young mum, with no warning, I found myself in unchartered waters, in an era where babies with Down's Syndrome were often institutionalised or hidden from the public eye. Indeed, our baby nearly did. No one talked about it. I'm here to tell you our young men are the most caring, loving, responsible and independent members of society. You will see the sometimes funny, sometimes difficult, but very innovative ways that they problem solve and make decisions. I want to show you their world as they see it. Come and laugh and cry with me as I tell their stories.
