At the young age of four, Kanisha Anthony miraculously survives a terrible house fire that changes her life forever. With third degree burns over most of her body including her head, she was not expected to live long. Spending over a year in hospitals enduring pain and several surgeries Kanisha managed to gain the strength and fight through the pain and relearn basic skills. When It was time to finally face the world Kanisha quickly learned that is was not easy being a person that looked different from the rest of the world. The societal stigma of being the girl with the burns was sometimes more painful than the burns themselves. Growing up, Kanisha was forced to endure bullying and other situations that no one should ever have to face.
