The Book With The Beacon Lights

The Book with the Beacon Lights follows the adventures of Perry Cassidy, a woman who loved Perry Mason mysteries as a teenager and set off on her own mysterious life, ending up as an owner of a bookstore in a small northeast Oklahoma town. Over the years, Perry became interested in old books with marginalia inside, and she eventually began "investigating" the life of the person who owned the book to discover any secrets or mysteries hidden in the owner's handwritten notes. The Book with the Beacon Lights describes Perry's fourteenth "case." Inspired by Perry Mason's legacy, a love of old books, her cat Della and intense curiosity, Perry solves the mystery of Mildred Sutton, a teenage girl who left very intriguing notes about another girl in her 1948 high school English textbook Beacon Lights of Literature.The book is a detective story written in verse and takes place in a fictional Oklahoma town somewhere in Green Country.
