PREFACE TO THE THIRD EDITION It was exactly two years ago when the second edition of this book hit the shelves of book stalls. Before the end of 2011 the copies produced had run out. It was, therefore, necessary to reprint. However, this was an opportunity to correct the minor typographical errors that appeared in the second edition. This edition went to the printers immediately after the Southern Sudanese have voted in the referendum for self-determination as stipulated in the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (See Chapter 10). Final results confirmed an overwhelming Vote for secession. Therefore, the Sudan will never be the same again. Nevertheless, it is our sincere hope that peace will continue to prevail between the North and South Sudan.
