I am Dr. Sarfraz Zaidi. I was living an ideal life - successful career, loving family, friends and pets, and a beautiful home in lovely southern California. But something was missing.There was no inner peace. Like most people, I suffered from the stress of daily living.Gradually, something started to wake up inside me. I started to ponder over the root cause of stress. Finally, one day - as I was walking in the neighborhood park - I discovered the root cause of the stress of daily living.I realized the root cause of stress lies inside me - not out there - and I was not born with it. I, like everyone else, acquired it as I grew up in the society. I call it the Acquired Self because we acquire it as we grow up in a society. Acquired Self is the root cause of all of the human stress. Initially, Acquired Self is useful - it helps you to function in the society. But then it becomes dysfunctional as it sucks up all of your attention. In this way, it steals your identity. Unfortunately, you do not pay any attention to your original, true Self that you are born with - the source of all of the joy and inner peace. That is why you do not have any inner peace and joy. With my spontaneous enlightenment, I got in touch with my true self. Totally free of the emotional burden of the past and the worries about the future, I live in the bliss of the NOW. This is the best thing that has happened to me in this lifespan.Soon afterwards, wisdom started to sink in as I would sit in my backyard in the peaceful blanket of nature. This wisdom would take many forms: sometimes paraphrases, sometimes poems and sometimes quotes.Interestingly, poems would flow in English and Urdu - two languages that I am fluent in. I would write these poems down as soon as these would descend on me.Here I present to you the collection of these Urdu poems.
