In 2014, I got fired. After hours of sobbing, I started to see the silver lining: This was meant to happen. I wasn't meant to work for that company. I was supposed to step into my purpose and learn how to share my message with the right people. As I built my business, I often felt uncertain. I lacked confidence. I felt alone. My mom, who of course only wanted what was best for me, suggested I "go get a job". She wanted me to stop fighting so hard and take what she thought was the easy route to paying my bills: a job.
