An ex-Marine and retired city cop, beaten down mentally and physically by his years on the job, receives a terminal diagnosis. In an effort to become a better person, he tries to purge himself of his prejudices in the time he has remaining. Along the way, he befriends a fellow patient who is an African-American ex-con. Both are in search of redemption for their past acts. They find a shared distaste for those who are perpetrating evil upon others, and decide to team up to do something about it. Their target is a priest who has been accused of molesting children, and their obstacles are many.
