The Unmerciful Sea

In September of 1985 Hurricane Gloria swept across the Outer Banks on her way north across the Atlantic coast. For the tiny village of Ocracoke, NC, it was only a glancing blow, but for the few locals who stayed behind, the hurricane was only the beginning of their troubles. Washed up from the depths of the Graveyard of the Atlantic was the once missing U-857, a Nazi U-boat, a shipwreck from another time, now stranded upon the shallow sandbar that formed along Ocracoke's white sand beach.
