Ederin is captured just as they are about to return home from finding the Sword of Jale'. He is taken across the world to a small island ruled by Silistra, Priestess of Balor and consort to Murok the Dark Emperor. Silistra, is both beautiful andevil. Initially, she believes that Elderin will find her attractive and will want to pleasantly distract her. It quickly becomes evident that Elderin is not interested in her no matter how hard she tries to tempt him. Silistra, who is used to gettingher way, gives Elderin to a trainer who is tasked to get him ready to be a warrior on her arena team. With the help of Shaylin, the trainer, Elderin prepares to fight for his life over and over. After some time, Elderin realizes that he can contact his friends by using the Avonguard Temple in the Shadow World. He makes contact, plans are put into place and a group is formed to rescue him. The bad news was that Silistra had tired of him and he had been poisoned, and there was no knownantidote. Merlin, Kara, Raven, Gwen and Shauna were all to be part of the group sent to rescue Elderin. The amount of magical power their small group had access to was enormous. Adding two powerful E'Rishni, Talia and Ayala, was overkill.However, each person wanted to save Elderin, and in each of their minds they hoped for resistance. Jeselle, Hergoth and several other Plainsmen would be going along with them to help get Elderin out as quickly as possible. A healer wasalso included, with hope that she could help him in some way until they could get him back to Jale'. Surprises, good and bad quickly unfold that complicate the rescue. Raven's group ends up walking into a trap. Can they get out alive? Can they get Elderin away from Silistra? Can the poison that is killing him be neutralized? No one knew for sure.
