Tragedy Under The Roser Park Bridge: A Story Of Redemption

Desiree survived a brutal sexual assault at the tender age of fifteen under the Roser Park Bridge. Her assailants were sentenced to prison on an unrelated charge. After serving seven years in prison, one of the assailants named Larry is transferred to a halfway house run by the church that Desiree attends. She is unaware he is being transferred there and he is unaware she attends church there. He became a born again Christian while in prison and is a totally different person than he was in his youth. Larry changed his name to Alton, which means a new beginning. He looked totally different than he did when he and two other boys assaulted her under the bridge. She and Larry sing in the choir together and serve on the usher board, as well as work side by side on several missionary endeavors for the church. Desiree discovers that her husband's best friend is one of the boys who sexually assaulted her in the past. She has a choice to make. Will she forgive him or will she continue to carry revenge and hatred in her heart. The assault damaged her to the extent that she cannot bare a child. This caused a huge riff between her husband's mother, who did not want her son to marry her. Desiree's mother was placed in a mental institute as she had problems dealing with her daughter being sexually assaulted.
