The Captain's wife is a very painful and emotional story of Captain James Smith's marriage. It's loosely based on the true events that happened at the end of his marriage. I've changed the names and places to protect the innocent. The story is an account of Jane Smith's adulterous affair, and the lengths she would go to hide the affair and protect her boyfriend. She kept a detailed journal of her evil exploits and plans. Jane's goal was to end the marriage, but keep her husband, the Captain, around to finance her lifestyle, date her boyfriend, and live happily ever after. She would accomplish these lofty goals by lying, fucking, cheating and stealing. Jane would destroy a good man to be with a lesser man. Damn shame! The Captain's Wife is for that person who is in a bad relationship with an evil person and doesn't have the strength or will power to leave, even when they know they should. By reading The Captain's Wife and seeing his ordeal, I hope someone can relate and leave their evil alone. The day he finally realized that Jane shouldn't be in his life was eye opening. A blindfold had been removed from his eyes. I couldn't believe the total disregard he had for himself. I kept asking him, "Why don't you love yourself enough to leave a person who didn't have your best interest at heart?" The most disappointing thought is that he gave her the power! He surrendered his emotions and feelings to a selfish woman. He gave her permission to mistreat him. He allowed her to destroy his ego, self-esteem and spirit. How could he have given Jane so much power? She didn't care enough about him, to ask him to leave, even when she knew she didn't want to be in a relationship with him anymore. Jane's behavior toward him, was deplorable; people treat their dogs better than she treated him. I know some people can relate.
