Ayuwa and the wicked queen is a folktale which centres on the prince - Ayuwa. The wicked queen, Ejiroghene who is the second wife of the king, Okoro plotted to kill Ayuwa so that her son will become king. Ayuwa's mother, Ejaita was the first wife of the king but she and her son Ayuwa were gravely maltreated. Ayuwa was constantly bullied by his step brothers. He was called Omovifi until he pulled off a brave task of getting the 'golden teeth' from a rare specie of bear. This teeth was to be provided by the would-be king and if not provided would have cost the life of his father, Okoro. With this marvelous feat, he was renamed Ayuwa and made heir to the throne which made the wicked queen jealous and envious
