There is a land known as the Highlands, which is home to a variety of peoples, from leprechauns to trolls and pixies to dwarfs, who manage to live in peace mostly by not speaking to one another. A delicate balance has developed, where everyone is in charge of their own little group, and only interact insofar as politics deems necessary. So what happens when some human girl comes tramping through on a quest to rescue her brother? Accompanied by an incompetent knight, a tiny hero, and an attitude-ridden teenager, Emelia is set to kick butt, or at least severely chew out anybody who gets in her way, but darker plans are afoot, and she isn't exactly a warrior. With her brother hanging in the balance, can Emelia rely on sharp wits and semi-useful allies alone? Too bad, she'll have to.
