The Geologic History of Manitoba includes discussion of the regional geologic settings, the Island Lake Domain, and tectonic synthesis of the Paleo-, Meso-, and Neoarchean events associated with the Superior Province. The Trans Hudson Orogen tectonic settings, closure of the Manikewan Ocean during the Snowbird Orogeny, the Reindeer and Foxe Orogenies, and associated accretions, uplifts, arcs, and interactions with the Superior Craton are presented. Manitoba's Hudson Bay Lowlands consists of Paleozoic and Mesozoic sedimentary cover, along with a discussion of the Interior Platform sedimentary deposits. Part I ends with the Manitoba Escarpment's eastern platform depositional history including the Cenozoic Era and the Quaternary Period glaciation of Manitoba.Part II presents the Geologic History of Saskatchewan with a discussion of the structural elements of the Glennie Domain, Saskatchewan Craton, Trans Hudson geochronology, Snowbird Tectonic Zone, the Athabasca Zone and basement, and the domains of Rae and Hearne Province.
