This story takes place back in the 1970's in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn when "The Mafia" was at his peak and in complete control of any and all activities. It was also a time when "The Hustle" became the dance everyone wanted to learn. Joey Dale, a successful bandleader, mastered this dance and decided to open his own Dance Studio called Crackerjax. It wasn't about the money! Joey wanted to provide a place where everyone, including himself, could dance and have fun. The club was designed as a swanky discotheque with all the bells and whistles. Within a few months the FBI managed to force Joey to convert it into an after-hours club. They knew that the mob would be drawn to this late night hot spot. The club was completely wired which enabled the FBI to keep a close watch over "The Boys."Once the club became an after-hours club it didn't take long before "The Mafia" stepped in for a piece of the action.Soon, Joey, a happily married man with a family, finds himself being pulled apart by both "The FBI" and " The Mafia," all at the same time. Not to mention the aggravation caused by the drunks and wannabes that patronized the club. With all this pressure it soon becomes a stressful and dangerous situation for Joey.Although the storyline is fiction, most events that you will read about, actually did take place and were based on the book "The Joey Dale Story."
