The book includes 60 nonfiction 'short stories' on a variety of nature-based topics broken into six chapters: The Natural World, Fantastic Plants, Our Animal Friends, Strictly Insects (Mostly Pollinators), Human Innovation & Impact, and A Look to the Future. The stories inside each chapter are individual articles that range from two to five pages, providing key takeaways and highlights on a specific topic. Although A Guide to the Wonderful World Around Us offers an outlined order, each individual story stands apart from one another and can be enjoyed in any order the reader chooses. This is the first installation of many more guides to come! Brannen Basham is a nature writer living in Waynesville, NC.
