Song of the Seasons

Willi Fischer Jed is an alumnus of Olivet College and Wayne State University, where she earned a B.F.A, M.Ed. and an M.A. She is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, the Nati onal Writers' Associati on, Soronian, and Mu Phi Epsilon professional music sorority. As a teacher in the Warren Consolidated Schools, Willi taught secondary English literature and choral music She implemented creative writing workshops for students which resulted in a tri-county publication featuring gift ed writers of all ages. She also served on the Michigan Board of Education steering committ ee for secondary course and textbook selecti on. A well known and gift ed area poet, she had a craft shop, the Sign of the Golden Quill, in Birmingham, where she wrote personal verse for all occasions from her "poet's corner". Willi was featured on local T.V. and radio shows and in the Detroit Free Press and News. This led to requests from well known national celebrities to write personal poems for special occasions. Mrs. Jed has three children: a daughter, Laurie; two sons, Robert and Timothy; and two grandsons, Nick and Zack. Her late husband, Bob Jed, was a renowned jazz artist who taught gift ed in the Birmingham Public Schools. Willi grew up on the northeast side of Detroit, spent her married life in Bloomfi eld Hills, and now resides in Rochester Hills, MI. KEEP YOUR FACE TO THE SUNSHINE, AND YOU WILL NOT SEE THE SHADOWS.
