The Life of Lily By: Bethany Stack & Christina Mattsson The Life of Lily is inspired by a black lab named Lily. Lily spent the first few years of her life in a cage having litters of puppies. She was in poor health when she was rescued in 2015, but she received excellent care through Save a Lab Rescue and ultimately came to live in Vermont to recover. Lily’s story highlights the reality of bullying which occurs in the animal world as abuse and mistreatment, but, unfortunately, it can also occur in a child’s life. This story teaches us that with the support of trusting adults we can put an end to bullying. Happily, Lily’s story ended well with her spending the rest of her life feeling safe and loved.
