It's 1998, and life in Pinto, a small town nestled in Texas Hill Country, proceeds pretty much as it always has. And across town, mysterious newcomer Kelli Hawthorne visits WT's, the local café owned by Willard Thoroughgood. Kelli guards the secrets of her past carefully-and masks her true feelings for the still-married Quinton. In the background, national news events parade across the television and the front page of the local newspaper, inviting discussion, speculation, and many strong opinions among the good citizens of Pinto, Texas.
