Revealing My Depression Treatment

This book contains the wisdom of psychotherapists as experienced by the patient "Bud" David Bozyk. Much of this text is taken from selected therapy recordings made for me by psychotherapists during 40 years of therapy. I was the last born of five siblings. Some people claim "the last born is always spoiled." You be the judge.As a child while still in my highchair, I was often frightened by my father and his very loud voice especially during arguments with our mother. While a pre-schooler and for ten years thereafter, I was teased by my mother and older sister Tory because one of my playmates was a girl. Detrimental?I was often criticised for my behaviour. e.g.: Adam, a family friend, once asked me, "Why to your brothers talk about you that way?" My reply, "I don't know." Adam answered, "They want to put you down, suppress you!"My two older bus-driver brothers verbally proposed that I quit my job, work on renovating West End apartment blocks and receive one-third of the profits. "Then you can go back to university and even buy a car." I agreed. After the last building next to the Sylvia Hotel was sold, they cheated me by not paying any of my one-third profit share. Sibling abuse? Dr. G., this psychotherapist increased my depression by saying to me, "HERE IS NO HOPE!!!" (See Preface) Then, many years later Dr. C., my family physician, repeatedly urged meto see a Dr. R., who, unknown to me at the time, was a "Five Star" psychotherapist. Therapy took decades for this superb Dr. R. to reduce mydeeply entrenched depression, fears and shame.
