Reason & Rhyme: Poetic Truths For Today.

Reason and Rhyme is a collection of both poetry and devotional thought. The greatest majority of the poems came during sermon preparation. Therefore the poems are over various subjects. From Bible stories put to rhyme to current events, from poems of comfort to poetic humor, these poems have had a part in a ministry of over thirty six years. Most of the poems were included in sermons at one time or another. Some have been used to commemorate special holidays and events in life. It is a picture of the many facets of life itself. Along with each poem is a devotional thought. Every poem ought to illicit a thought and a response. Each thought is taken from a Scripture passage. Each one is written so as to add to the value of the poem. Each thought is concise and to the point. Many are less than one full page with a few taking up most of a page. They are written with the hope of bringing about an intellectual and spiritual pause. Being a preacher, it is hard to write anything without seeking to have an impact on the lives of others. Scattered throughout the book are Scripture passages. These are designed to fill the empty places in the book. Each passage has something to do with the subject at hand. Rather than leaving empty places on the page, why not fill them with the Word of God? Each passage is taken from the King James Version of the Bible. It is the prayer of the author that you will be blessed as you read these pages. May you find in them both encouragement as well as courage; both lighthearted fun as well as serious thought, and most of all a message of hope as we consider the truths of God together.
