As the inside of the boot of a battered Nissan Primera isn't the best of opening locations you are encouraged to stay with this tale as, while captive in there, Imogen starts to think back over the preceding few weeks. They've been a bit of an eye-opener. Her Grandad is terminally ill in hospital and she's been visiting him and 'the inmates' in the geriatric ward. But it is observed at times by hedgehogs with a high level understanding of human psychology; so this should help.It provokes a lot of discussion - and argument. Argument is the staple diet in the ward - the thrill of living hasn't escaped them.One evening she offers to help one of her Grandad's new friends and this means she catches up with an old flame, Sean. He never was a particularly pleasant character and time, and his choice in music, hasn't mellowed him.Although he's back on the scene at her request it is not a trouble-free relationship. Sean doesn't have any trouble-free relationships. Imogen should have known better but then since when has sense ever played a part in anyone's emotional needs?Congratulations - you have three stories in one book.
