The Bible describes Revelation as the process used to reveal, uncover, or unveil a truth otherwise hidden from the finite mind. Revelation brings to light what was before cloaked in the darkness of ignorance. Revelation can be used to unfold a truth that would otherwise never be discovered by all the collected wisdom of mankind. The Bible states in John 1:18 "No man hath seen God at any time..." The meaning here is that God has never been fully seen in His true essence. The scripture goes on to say that Jesus declared the Father to us. "..he hath declared him. (John 1:18) To declare means to lead out. So it is Jesus that brings the invisible Father God out into full view. The word "declared" also means to narrate, to explain and to interpret. Jesus becomes the narration, the explanation and the interpretation of God to us. Because of the unique position of the Son, (in the bosom of the Father), nothing is lost in the translation. Only the Son who abides in this most intimate and perfect relationship with the Father can plainly reveal Him. From His place of honor and eternal fellowship Jesus is qualified as the only true expounder of God. Jesus becomes the ultimate communicator of God to the world. Jesus is the revelation of God. Follow Jesus and "see" God. Follow Jesus and "hear" God. Follow Jesus and realize God in actuality.
