The forces of freedom have always been in conflicts with the forces of repression/control. These have been portrayed as capitalist vs. communist, liberators vs. fascists, unions vs. management, poor vs. rich, etc. The creation of armies and organized warfare led to physical entities structured in a conflict with each other. Every recorded conflict has been a continuation of this ideological struggle. These conflicts include the Boxer Rebellion, the Bolshevik Revolution, the French Revolution, the American Revolution, World War II and the Cold War, all humanity's conflicts. Freedom has always been the goal of one side and repression is the goal of the other. One of the greatest distracters is economic theory/ Issues are deemed complex because ideology is ignored and the economic structure of a repressive country is assumed to be equal to that of a free country ... Economics is just an attempt to establish control over the social and political realms. Economics is about the same as microscopic navel gazing. It takes focus away from the goals and focuses on immediate returns. In other words, it distracts. Today, the forces of freedom, those with long-term goals, continue the battle with repression. Life is not about economics or output; it is and always will be about the quality of long-term life as defined by freedom and human rights. Ultimately, all politics is about freedom and repression--Pages xii-xiii.
