Rachel Frederick is a wife and mother of two, suffering from the chronic illness Dysautonomia. She lives in a small suburban town in Baltimore County, Maryland, close to the Baltimore Harbor. She and her family's decision to move into her childhood home, has triggered old memories (some good and some bad) and awakened night terrors in her. Rachel begins seeing a shadowy figure in her dreams and soon the figure becomes a part of her reality. Rachel is contacted by a stranger on social media. After ignoring several messages, Rachel gives in to curiosity, and Rachel and the stranger communicate through instant messaging. The stranger, Mary Catherine, a foster child who once lived in Rachel's childhood home (and shared her nursery), tells Rachel that there's a dark family secret concerning Rachel. She tells Rachel that something happened to Rachel when she was a baby lying in her crib. Rachel sets out to find answers. What happened in the nursery? Why does she have night terrors? Who (or what) is the dark figure which lurks in her dreams and in the shadows of her reality? Why is any of this happening to her? As she attempts to find answers, the battle escalates between Rachel and pure evil. In the end, Rachel finds herself in the fight of her life against a demon which has hunted Rachel longer than she could ever have imagined.
