TURF STARS 2016 The Turf Stars annual's mission is to identify a group of exciting young horses to follow during the Flat racing season. Turf Stars is edited by racing journalist and broadcaster Kel Mansfield who has worked in the sport for over 40 years. There are essays about each horse's form, their potential and possible targets during the season. The essays include many quotes from trainers, jockeys and connections. The book also contains betting strategies, staking plans and advice on how to follow the horses listed in Turf Stars and enjoy the thrilling sport of racing to the full. Last year's Turf Stars included the Derby first and second, Golden Horn and Jack Hobbs, who at the time of publishing had just one run each in maiden company.
