Casino: A Novel

JoAnne grew up poor. Her father couldn't hold a job because of his drinking. She went to work at age 15 to help her mother support her younger siblings. Once the youngest was in high school, JoAnne left her parent's home, vowing never to return. Marty was born into wealth, she started experimenting with drugs at an early age. At 16 she ran away from rehab and by obtaining a fake ID, went to work in a strip club. The two meet when Marty gets clean and comes to work in the restaurant where JoAnne works.
