Hungry: A Random Isolated Event

The two clan females waited, allowing the coyotes to move off. No longer sensing any threat, they, too, started downhill. They didn't have to go too far. Having come to the altar-like run of stone, raised from the ground and tilting ever so perceptively one past the other, they stopped, concealing themselves alongside the trunks of the trees to the uphill side. The scent of prey was strong. There to the other side of the rocks, the older of the two females spotted movement. It was grey against grey, but there was no mistaken what it was she was eyeing.
