Many people have asked when Dr. Patrick W. Gainer's book "Folk Songs From the West Virginia Hills" will be reprinted. The family is investigating options, but in the meantime, we agreed to publish this excerpt of 24 of our favorite songs from the collection. We have illustrated it with original photographs and artwork by family members, mostly photographs from Dr. Gainer's father, Lloyd Gainer.
