Just after the war life in England was hard for many people, especially people like Diane and Stanley. During the war Diane had worked as a killer using sex to provide food and a home for her beloved son Stanley. Whilst she was working Stanley grew up learning about life the hard way in an East end that was both exciting and deadly. Diane was not only a good mother to him she was also a sound business woman and during the war saved enough to buy a house for them then let rooms out to help pay the bills. This was his first murder, his first step on the road of his chosen career as a killer. When his mother decides to start an Escort Agency supplying girls to upmarket clients, Stanley becomes her 'protector' and soon earns himself a reputation. No one is safe if they try to blackmail or threaten his mother, soon bodies abound. But in a London that has corrupt police, where violence is always present Stanley finds love. Gillian his school-days sweetheart life was not plain sailing for them but then life never was. Follow Stanley through these years.
