The Sorrows of Young Werther is an epistolary, loosely autobiographical novel written by Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe. The literature & fiction classic was first published in 1774. There he meets Charlotte, a beautiful young girl who takes care of her siblings after the death of their mother. Werther falls in love with Charlotte despite knowing beforehand that she is engaged to a man named Albert, eleven years her senior. Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe, was a German writer and statesman. His body of work includes epic and lyric poetry written in a variety of metres and styles; prose and verse dramas, memoirs; an autobiography; literary and aesthetic criticism; treatises on botany, anatomy, and colour; and four classic literary novels. In addition, numerous literary and scientific fragments, more than 10,000 letters, and nearly 3,000 drawings by him exist. Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe completed The Sorrows of Young Werther when he was just 24 years old and it instantly caused him to become an international literary celebrity with his literature being read all over the world.
