In Blood Is the Life, the third installment of the Vampire Chronicles series, Enlil and Charlie have little time to enjoy being together once again. They must travel to New York with Enlil's brother, Enki; his daughter, Nanach; his son-in-law, Jachin; and Jeeves when Jeeves's husband, Gerard, is kidnapped by the Order of the Nyx. Meanwhile, the Council must search for Gerard and his captors, and romance is in the air between Dagan, a member of the new vampire group, and the sultry human, Nicky, who works at his mother's club.
