Jordan, searching for clues from the past, tries to make sense of everything's that happened in his life, and how these mystical creatures are somehow involved. Jordan soon realizes that he must carry on the tradition of toggle mercenary and try to rid the world of the evil one and his minions. He also seeks the retribution and vengeance he promised to his true love lost, Piper. Shantago, on the other hand, has different plans. He is set to take over the world and become king to all, including mankind. He will not stop until the world is his and everyone bows down to the great Shantago.
