Simon H King's new play takes a swing at banking and financial misconduct during the 2007/09 credit crunch. George Banks is the bank's morally bankrupt relationship manager who's instructed to balance the bank's books at any cost - even if that means driving his friend's family business into administration. The death of his good friend and loyal customer of the bank doesn't stop him from reducing the bank's exposure to debt, and his ruthless persistence sees him bullying the businesses new owner, Rose Davenport (the daughter of the deceased), to signing over the family home as collateral. Rose is backed into a corner and signs up to an interest rate swap agreement and finds herself paying higher monthly figures than expected when The Bank of England reduces interest rates (ironically, to help businesses during the financial crisis). Rose is eventually forced to make a life-changing decision: does she put up or shut up, to protect her father's good name and avoid scandal? Or, does she fight the banks for mis-selling the loan - for their financial misconduct? (This is a work of fiction. Names, characters, businesses, places, events and incidents are either the products of the author's imagination or used in a fictitious manner. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely coincidental).
