He finds a place to work - a dangerous place - in the booming steel industry in the north of England. He seeks a place to live. He thinks he has found one, but is told in no uncertain terms that it is no place for him. The trouble with Tio Mourillon is that he doesn't know his place. I am a Stranger in a Strange Land tells the story - based on true events in the life of the author's father - of one man's fight to buy a house and, in doing so, to establish his place in this world.
