In 1985, at the age of 26, Graham Burgess started work as an Expedition Leader for an adventure travel company. Beginning his two years in Africa idealistic, wide-eyed and somewhat na?ve, he traced his adventures in long letters home. These two years were to prove to be a period of fundamental change and maturing outlook as romantic idealism met the 'real world'.
