Kindred Peril: The Third Adventure In The Ebon Olcar Series

Quinn, Eyen and Kayla, Quinn's TCU AI, return to Ebon Olcar from Earth space aboard the Arrow of Olcar offer providing aid to Earth Forces in defending Earth from generation ships of an invading alien culture. They were initially mistaken as invaders themselves and were attacked, several times, before Earth Forces accepted them for who they were. Immediately after defeating the Ohmtahn-Rhee, a military coup took place against the current world government, from within the Earth Forces military. The coup was led by a power-seeking captain of a Battlecruiser, Colonel Rutger Zendler, who had managed to gather a large number of high ranking officers to his cause, along with over a hundred thousand men and women crew, aboard several ships; that was nearly a third of the Earth Forces fleet. After two and a half months dealing with the Ohmtahn-Rhee, it took another five weeks to overcome the remaining revolutionists. Ultimately, the five main ships leading the coup were engaged in the Kuiper Belt. Captured loyal crews were rescued and those ships were recovered or destroyed. The officers involved in the coup were captured. Most were imprisoned while many were executed. Zendler received the death penalty but managed to escape from Mars and made it to the Kuiper Belt before his execution. Unfortunately for him, the Starmet was on patrol near the SATSPY installation and close to Janus and Chanzo when Zendler approached. The Starmet was running cloaked so Zendler was unaware of their presence, but they detected his ship. His response to the Starmet's orders to stop and be boarded was to fire on the Starmet. The Starmet retaliated with a volley of three Mag3 rail rounds that struck the Zendler's stolen yacht from bow to stern, obliterating it and killing Zendler instantly. After a week of celebration and numerous awards, the crew of the Arrow extended their condolences and left Earth space for home. They needed to rest and recovery from their four month ordeal and to get back to their normal lives. Their 'normal' lives were quite far beyond normal! Upon reaching home new problems were presented. A volcano developed and threatened an entire Kindred village. And the Meerdol were at it again! The discovery of the Ionic Dampening Field controls leads to new things and not the least of which is an asteroid a mile long and half as wide on a collision course with Ebon Olcar!
