Happiness Was My Butterfly came after a lifetime of writing short stories and poetry. When the time came for a novel it blossomed so quickly. I grasped every word as if it came to life. Since it was my first adventure of writing a book I thought it best to obtain several opinions. I received feedback from both male and females of all ages, and a seventeen year-old. After she finished it she came back and said "I didn't want it to end, and I read the whole thing straight through, because I couldn't put it down." Since then everyone who has read it said the same thing. The last person I offered it to was a stock broker friend of mine who didn't like to read novels. But I left it with him anyway. The next morning at 8:00 am he called and said ..". I was up all night and I couldn't put it down ... I had to finish reading it because I always love a good mystery." I felt I couldn't get any better opinions, for I had been delighted with their responses. I was born and raised in the South and the book is centered around that area in 1935. It is full of mystery and comedy, and to coin a phrase from a delightful movie star, Gregory Peck, when he read "To Kill A Mockingbird." He said "he loved it because it took him back to his childhood." I can't think of a better invitation for you to try my book, for I truly believe you will like it too.
