Overview
Dakota Hayes is a beautiful, clever and strong young woman. Her father owns a large ranch in Caldwell, Kansas. She believes that it is her birthright to take over the ranch once her father retires, but her mother Maybelle has other plans for her. Maybelle has been sending letters back and forth with Logan Wallace, in White Cloud, who she plans for Dakota to marry. When Dakota hears of this, she is furious.
