The time the turbulent 1930's, the place a bitterly divided world struggling for and against empires, of peoples following dreams and nurturing bitter resentments. In Palestine the British Mandate to govern is being tested by Jews and Arabs alike. Troubles in Europe spill into Palestine, with hundreds of thousands of Jews entering the land. Arabs chafing under the Mandate and bitter at unchecked immigration revolt, demanding an end to the Mandate and independence. The British and the Jews join forces to suppress the revolt.Ishmael Latif, forced to flee fifteen years before returns to fight with the rebels. He joins the rebels at a time when their plight seems hopeless. It was his task to restore hope.Sarah Poletsky Nevers joins the effort to achieve a peaceful end to the rebellion.
