Down But Not Out

The story you are about to read concerns my unexpected illness with colon cancer which turned up other underlying issues. It begins at my home in Tilton, New Hampshire, my hospitalization at Franklin Regional Hospital, and my thoughts during my convalescence. I hope you as a reader will find this book interesting as it has not only touched on my life as a Christian, but also reached beyond to my very vitality. I hope you will enjoy reading this book, and I hope it will bring you comfort and will encourage and inspire you to get well if you are ill. If you are healthy, I hope it will inspire you to be thankful and to feel blessed. I had just published my first book, titled Two Stepped Out for Him. Two weeks before I became ill, I mentioned to my wife Joan, "Here I am sixty-six and I do not even take an aspirin, I feel blessed." I was enjoying myself as a new author and I had no idea that I had more than one life-threatening illness within me. Here is my story.
